What this pack does
The Instagram agent skill pack is a free set of 13 skills for Claude, made by Jake Schincariol and shared under the MIT licence. A skill is a set of instructions Claude loads when you ask for that kind of job, so instead of explaining what a good Reel looks like every time, you type /ig-reel and it already knows.
It needs no signup, no API key and nothing connected to your account. Five of the skills come with small Python tools that run on your own computer and score your hooks, time your script, check your caption and clean your drafts.
The 13 skills
Four groups. You do not need all of them: most people start with /ig-reel, /ig-caption, /ig-human and /ig-plan.
Create
/ig-reelOne idea into a Reel: three hooks from 26 formulas, scored, then the script, the on-screen text and a timed beat sheet./ig-carouselSwipe posts: the cover that earns the swipe, the slide copy and the 1080x1350 files./ig-storyThe day's stories, which sticker does which job, and the move into your DMs./ig-captionThe caption, checked against the 125 characters the feed shows before "more"./ig-repurposeOne video, podcast or newsletter into a week of Reels and carousels.
Research
/ig-viralRanks the Reels working best in your niche against each account's usual views, names the hook each one used, and writes a swipe file./ig-auditLooks at what you already posted: what worked, why, and what to stop making./ig-profileScores your profile out of 100 and rewrites what lost points./ig-planYour week: what to post, which format, when, and the 10 accounts to engage with.
Engage
/ig-commentWrites comments for other people's posts that sound like a person with an opinion./ig-replySorts the comments under your posts and drafts replies, most important first./ig-dmThe keyword reply, the first message, the collab pitch and two follow ups.
Polish
/ig-humanThe humanizer: strips em dashes, stock AI words and invisible characters, then scores what is left.
Before you start
There are two ways to use the pack.
- Claude Code (recommended). Claude Code is Claude working in a folder on your computer. You get all 13 skills and the five Python tools. You need Claude Code installed and Python 3 for the tools.
- The Claude app or claude.ai. Paste a single skill’s
SKILL.mdat the top of a chat and Claude follows it for that conversation. It works, but you lose the Python tools, which are most of the value of/ig-reeland/ig-human.
Install the pack
Pick one way. The first one is the easiest.
Open Claude Code and paste this. Claude reads the repo, installs the skills and checks that they work.
https://github.com/Jakeschincariol/instagram-agent-skill
Install this skill, then confirm /ig-reel works.Inside Claude Code, run these two lines one after the other.
/plugin marketplace add Jakeschincariol/instagram-agent-skill
/plugin install instagram-agentIn a terminal (Mac, Linux, or Git Bash on Windows):
git clone https://github.com/Jakeschincariol/instagram-agent-skill.git
cp -r instagram-agent-skill/skills/ig-* ~/.claude/skills/To use them in one project only, copy the same folders into that project’s .claude/skills/ folder instead.
To check it worked, type /ig in Claude Code. You should see the 13 commands in the list.
Teach it your voice
Every skill reads one file, voice.md, before it writes anything. Ten minutes here is what makes the scripts sound like you and not like everyone else using the same pack. It matters even more on Instagram, because you have to say the words out loud.
The fastest way is to show Claude how you already talk:
Here are three of my Reels (transcripts or links), plus my bio.
Write my voice.md from these, using the template in templates/voice.md
from the instagram-agent-skill repo, and save it to
~/.claude/instagram/voice.md.
Ask me about anything you can't tell from the examples.
1. [paste Reel 1]
2. [paste Reel 2]
3. [paste Reel 3]
Bio: [paste your bio]Your first Reel
Ask for a Reel the way you would ask a person. Here is a made up example for a café, run through the pack’s own tools so you can see what comes back.
/ig-reel We tested four milks in the same flat white. Whole milk won,
nine out of twelve regulars picked it. 30 second Reel.The skill writes three hooks and scores them. This is the real hook scorer on four options:
HOOK RANKING
==============================================================================
-> 52.2 OK Nobody tells you the milk matters more than the beans.
weakest: SPECIFICITY (15)
52.0 OK I tested 40 espresso shots to find the one our regulars ord...
weakest: STAKES (20)
22.2 WEAK Stop scrolling if you love coffee 🔥
dealbreaker: Opens with "stop scrolling". Asking for attention proves you have not earned it.
9.6 WEAK Hey guys, today I want to talk about coffee.
dealbreaker: Greeting. Nobody came to the feed to be greeted.Then it times the script before you film it, and tells you where people will leave:
BEAT SHEET · 62 words · ~22.6s at 165 wpm · target 30.0s
0:00.0 3.6s HOOK Nobody tells you the milk matters more than the beans.
^ hook runs 3.6s, past the 3s mark
0:03.6 4.7s We tested four milks in the same flat white, same shot, same barista.
^ 4.7s on one beat
...
- Beat 1 has no number and no name in it. Hooks without something checkable are the ones that get scrolled.
- Loops: the last beat repeats "beans, milk" from the hook. Second watches are free reach.Caption and humanize
Next, /ig-caption writes the caption and shows you exactly what the feed shows before “more”:
WHAT THE FEED SHOWS
+------------------------------------------------------+
We tested four milks in the same flat white and the
winner was not the one our baristas expected at all,
so here is what happ
+-------------------------------------------- ... more +
WARN FIRST LINE 130 characters, so it gets cut at 125 mid-thought
WARN HOOK IS CONCRETE 0 number(s) or name(s) in the visible window
PASS HASHTAGS 3 tag(s): #coffee #latteart #barista
PASS ONE ASK one call to action: comment a keywordIt also keeps you within five hashtags, Instagram’s current limit per post.
Last, run any draft through /ig-human. Here is a deliberately bad draft before and after:
HUMANIZE REPORT
9 machine artefacts removed
1x U+200B ZERO WIDTH SPACE -> delete
1x — EM DASH -> ,
1x in today's video -> (deleted)
1x delve into -> look at
1x game-changer -> big deal
1x seamless -> clean
20.5 FLAGGED -> 62.0 REVIEW (+41.5)It removed the obvious tells, but the verdict is REVIEW, not PASS: the sentence still needs a human rewrite. That is the honest version of a humanizer. It cleans what a tool can clean and tells you what still needs you.
Your weekly routine
Once a week, in this order:
- Plan
/ig-planWhat to post, which format, when, and who to engage with. - Research
/ig-viralWhat is working in your niche this week, turned into ideas. - Write
/ig-reelScripts for the Reels you will film, hooks scored. - Caption
/ig-captionA caption for each, checked against the feed cut. - Clean
/ig-humanEvery draft through the humanizer before it goes out. - Engage
/ig-replyReplies to your comments, drafted for you to post.
Build your Instagram command centre
Typing six commands every week gets old. So I made a starter folder that runs the routine for you. Open it in Claude Code, type run my week, and it plans the week, writes the Reels and captions, cleans everything with the humanizer and saves it all in one place.
- Download the zip and unzip it anywhere, for example in Documents.
- Open a terminal in the folder and type
claude. - Answer the questions in
voice.md, or let Claude write it from three of your Reels. - Type the prompt below.
run my weekEverything lands in the content folder: the plan, one file per Reel with its script, on-screen text and caption, and the swipe file from your research. You read it, change what you want, film, and post.
What it won’t do
- It does not post. Not Reels, not comments, not replies, not DMs. Instagram only allows posting through its official app review process, and everything else breaks its terms.
/ig-viraldoes not scrape. It reads about ten accounts at human speed through your own browser, with you there. It never asks for your password and never logs in as you.- The humanizer is not “undetectable”. Its five checks are local heuristics modelled on what public detectors look for. They are not those detectors, and nobody can honestly promise a pass.
- Platform numbers change. The hashtag limit moved from 30 to 5 in December 2025. If something here disagrees with what Instagram does today, Instagram is right.
